Ormonde is a chapbook by Next Generation poet Hannah Lowe, which combines poems, memoir and archive material to chart the 1947 journey of SS Ormonde, one of the first post WW2 ships (over a year before Windrush) to carry significant numbers of immigrants from Jamaica to the UK. On board was the poet’s father, ready to start a new life in a new country. Published in a limited edition of 300, the book includes an introduction by
Windrush historian Mike Phillips, and each copy is signed by the author.
